Courses

  • Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins

The marketing team, who write everything from emails through to lengthy thought leadership documents, were letting lots of mistakes slip through in their copy.

Kay Sullivan, Senior Marketing Manager at EY, felt this was down to two main reasons: firstly, that the team needed to improve their basic understanding of English grammar and punctuation, and know how to spot errors; and secondly, that delegates didn’t seem to grasp the importance of time spent proofreading.

The training solution: Teach delegates useful techniques with Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins training

Writing Machine Academy delivered its Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins course to twenty delegates at EY. The trainer guided the group through proofreading techniques, highlighting common mistakes to watch out for and emphasising why it’s so important to check copy. The course is based around an engaging presentation and supported by a number of exercises so delegates can practice what they’ve learned.

Client feedback

Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my writing’. The average score was 4.2 out of 5.
