  • Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins

Stephen Watchorn, Head of Client Marketing, had noticed that there was room for improvement in the quality of writing being sent out to clients, and used in internal presentations.

He wanted to help his team recognise errors and eliminate them, as well as encourage them to keep a consistent style and tone throughout. As delegates were from a range of departments, he needed a course which was applicable to people writing different types of documents.

The training solution: Grammar and Proofreading training to teach thorough proofreading methods

Writing Machine Academy delivered its Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins course in a way that suited all attendees, from new interns to more senior members of the team. Moreover, even though there were a number of non-native English speaking delegates, the trainer made sure that the material covered was just as helpful to them as it was to the delegates who handled the language more naturally. There were also a range of exercises relevant to all which enabled the delegates to practice the new methods learned.

Client feedback

Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘I have more confidence in my proofreading ability’, ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my proofreading’ and  ‘Quality of the Trainer’. The average score for the course was 4.5 out of 5.
