People contributing to all kinds of documents at All3Media weren’t proofreading their work properly before sending it out. Inevitably this was leading to mistakes and reducing the quality of the content.
Annelise Unitt decided that professional training was needed to get everyone thinking about how important it is to check both writing and design, and teach them practical techniques to do so effectively.
The training solution: A proofreading course which would get delegates properly checking their work
Writing Machine Academy delivered its Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins training course to thirteen delegates at All3Media. The delegates all had varied roles within the company, with sales and marketing managers, consultants, receptionists and PAs all in attendance. The three-hour course highlighted the need for proofreading, and showed delegates a number of fast and fail-safe techniques for checking grammar, spelling, style, consistency and design.
Client feedback
Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my writing’. The average score was 4.6 out of 5.
