Courses
Employees new to the G4S bid team are responsible for a range of activities including completing pre-qualification questionnaires and invitation to tender responses. As the facilities management and security market becomes more competitive, pre-qualification questionnaires are getting tougher and are marked more rigorously.
One of G4S’s senior bid managers recognised that the team could improve their bid scores by attending a proofreading course. Bid responses often require multiple read-throughs and G4S was particularly looking for ways that could stop bid managers from going ‘word blind’ and missing obvious errors.
The training solution: A Grammar and Proofreading course for the whole marketing team, with a focus on style
Writing Machine Academy delivered its Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins course to G4S delegates, showing them the four different groups of things to look for with proofreading. The course also taught effective structuring and planning for more efficient writing, and how to create engaging headings and strong calls to action.
Client feedback
Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my writing’. The average score was 4.3 out of 5.
