Courses
As Senior Manager of Internal Communications, Christine Hobart is responsible for the collateral that goes out to over 100 countries. Her team of 18 has to proofread a broad range of texts from blog entries and emails to reports and publications ready for internal, and sometimes external, circulation. Many of Christine’s colleagues need to proofread on a daily basis and some are non-native English speakers.
For the client-facing documents in particular, having a thoroughly proofread text is vital. Christine needed proofreading tips for experienced proofreaders; tangible, applicable strategies for all sorts of documents to help stop mistakes slipping through the net. And, since she and her team often have to proofread their own as well as their colleagues’ work, guidance on spotting errors in over-familiar texts already read dozens of times was a priority too.
The training solution: Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins offering a practical, thorough proofreading method in just three hours
“Within days of Writing Machine Academy delivering its Grammar and Proofreading Quick Wins course to our marketing and communications team, I was already noticing improvements,” says Christine. “The trainer taught us lots of useful techniques for spotting mistakes and made us aware of the things to look out for, as well as clearing up our punctuation bugbears! All the feedback I’ve had from my team has been really positive, and I’ve already recommended this course to my colleagues.”
Client feedback
Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will improve my proofreading’. The average score was 4.3 out of 5.
