Courses

  • Structured Marketing Writing

Chris Newstead, Senior Marketing Manager at Hays, knew that writing training was needed after reviewing the copy that was being created by his team.

He was looking to teach the delegates key skills and techniques that they could apply to their own writing, which might be anything from job recruitment advertisements to direct mail. Chris was looking for a course that would give delegates the writing skills they needed, in a short space of time.

The training solution: A thorough introduction to professional marketing writing

Writing Machine Academy delivered its Structured Marketing Writing course. Using Hays’ tone of voice guidelines, delegates were taught to implement a consistent, best practice approach to writing. The course explored effective planning and structuring, eliminating jargon and complexity from writing, and how to create copy that is on message with a strong call to action. Delegates used lots of real Hays examples and had plenty of hands-on writing practice.

Client feedback

Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my writing’. The average score was 4.3 out of 5.

“It’s been great to learn how to approach writing in a more methodical way rather than just churning something out.”
