Teaching the media department at Prudential how to write in a clear consistent style
Quick facts
Prudential is an international financial services group with significant operations in Asia, the US and the UK. In the UK it serves around 7 million customers and is a leading provider of life and pensions.
Courses
The employees in the Media Relations department at Prudential spend most of their day writing copy for external audiences.
They are all experienced individuals, but had no ‘house style’ when writing. They were looking for a course that could help them write in an economical, clear tone of voice. They also wanted to focus on creating a compelling message which was important for lobbying or PR writing.
The training solution: Making the team more competitive
Prudential chose Writing Machine Academy’s one-day Structured Business Writing course. With very successful outcomes, all delegates took away valuable practical methods they could use immediately. The course taught delegates to consider their audience first and foremost when planning and structuring a document; a technique that was deemed especially useful.
Client feedback
Delegates were asked to give a score out of five on a list of feedback questions such as ‘Quality of the training content’, ‘Quality of the trainer’ and ‘I have learned new techniques that will enhance my writing’. The average score across both courses was 4.1 out of 5.
“The most useful aspect of the day was structuring – I would give 5 stars for this module.”
